Julia Robertson, CEO of the Impellam Group, started her recruitment career in 1979 and founded her own recruitment business, The Agency, in 1986. In 1996, Robertson assumed leadership of Tate, which she sold along with The Agency to Carlisle Staffing Services in 2000. She then held several leadership roles for brands within the Carlisle group, including SRG, Tate and Carlisle Managed Solutions. Following the merger of Carlisle Staffing Services and the Corporate Services Group in 2008, Robertson became divisional CEO of Impellam UK and was appointed group CEO of Impellam Group in 2013. From 1993 to 1996, she was chief executive of the Institute of Employment Consultants, which later merged with the Federation of Recruitment and Employment Services to form REC.
