Bettina Schaller joined The Adecco Group and the private employment services industry in March 2010. She is now head of group public affairs at The Adecco Group. Schaller is also president of the World Employment Confederation. Furthermore, she is vice-chair of the OECD BIAC Employment, Labour and Social Affairs Committee, co-chair of the B20 Future of Work, Skills and Mobility Task Force, a member of the B20 International Advocacy Caucus and a steering group member of the World Economic Forum’s Centre for New Economy and Society and Global Apprenticeship Network. Schaller is also a founding member of The Boardroom, which aims to drive board diversity.

As president of Asempleo, the association of private employment agencies in Spain, Andreu Cruañas represents Spain in the World Employment Confederation. He is a board member of the Confederation of Employers and Industries of Spain as well as the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises. He is also a general council member of the Spanish National Employment System and the Central Executive Committee of the Public Employment Service of Spain. Cruañas was also the Secretary of Labour and Employment and Director General of Employment of the Catalan Government. In 2017, Cruañas teamed up with Eurosocial, a collaboration between the EU and Latin America that focuses on good practices in employment, to improve the quality of employment, especially among youth.

Tig Gilliam was appointed CEO of NES Global Talent, a specialist provider of engineering talent solutions, in 2014. He joined the board of directors in 2013. Before NES Global Talent, Gilliam was operating partner for AEA Investors LP, a private equity firm. From 2007 to 2012, he was regional head and executive committee member of Adecco Group North America. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at PwC Consulting and IBM Global Business Services, leading the global supply chain management practice. Gilliam is chairman of NY-based Work Market Inc., the freelance management system used by businesses to manage their independent contractors.

Steve Russell is group CEO of Bond International Software, a provider of specialist staffing software for recruitment agencies worldwide. During Russell’s career in software development, he has held a number of senior management positions, including group managing director of Scan Data International plc. Russell formed Bond, which then acquired a controlling interest in Bond Associates Ltd. in 1988. On the acquisition of Bond Associates Inc., he became the group’s chief executive, and following a successful flotation on AIM, became CEO. Over the past decade, Russell has spearheaded a number of acquisitions for the Bond Group including FMP Europe in 2014.

Consultant Frances Lewis has been head of workforce solutions with Osborne Clarke LLP for over 13 years. She has been advising staffing businesses since 1997, including some of the first UK MSP and RPO deals in the early 2000s. She now advises gig worker platforms, staffing supply chain risk compliance businesses and payment intermediaries and employers of record. Lewis advises on commercial, regulatory and workplace tax aspects of engaging and supplying contingent workforces in the UK and internationally. She recently was a contributor for Construction News UK, calling for Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) umbrella services to be considered as part of the consultation.

Nathalie Jaoui is deputy CEO and head of Groupe Crit, a France-based €1.7 billion temporary recruitment provider with 8,200 employees in 12 countries. In 2021, Groupe Crit was featured on Institut Choiseul’s New Conquerors of the Economy, a study honouring 150 companies engaged in conquering their markets. Jaoui has led the group’s external growth strategy in the US market and engaged it in corporate social responsibility. She has also been on the board of directors of Prism’emploi, the French staffing association, and an executive council member of MEDEF.

Maalfrid Brath is managing director for ManpowerGroup in Norway, the largest staffing company in the Norwegian market representing 20% of the total sales revenue. She first joined ManpowerGroup in 2009. Prior to that, she spent 15 years with Storebrand in Norway serving in various leadership roles, most recently as executive vice president. Brath is chair of the board of directors at the Norwegian staffing and recruitment federation as well as vice chair of the Executive Committee of World Employment Confederation Europe. Throughout her career, she has held positions in various boards including as chairman of the board at NHO National Federation of Service Industries and Trade, a position she’s held since 2016.

Minna Vanhala-Harmanen

Minna Vanhala-Harmanen early last year took over as CEO of Barona, the largest staffing firm in Finland with projected 2019 revenue of €400 million. Following its 2017 acquisition of Opteam, the third-largest firm in the country, she has integrated and transitioned the two firms to develop Barona into a stronger and more agile company with a broader service portfolio. Prior to the acquisition, Vanhala-Harmanen was with Opteam for 10 years, the last six as CEO. She has also for the past 12 years served on the board of the Private Employment Agencies Association in Finland, including five years as chair.

Samuel Tual is president of Groupe Actual, one of the top privately held staffing firms in the French market. Tual co-founded the company with his father, Gérard Tual, in 2001 from the merger of their respective staffing firms. In 2014, Tual was able to secure funding from private equity partners CM-CIC Capital Finance and Ouest Croissance in order to pursue the group’s growth strategy in its home market. In 2015, Actual acquired four additional firms, including Athmos, thus extending its network in the southeast of France.
