Volker Enkerts is the president of the Federal Employers’ Association of Staffing Services (BAP), largest German trade organisation. In 1992, Enkerts became a board member of the German Association of Private Employment (BZA), and then president in 2004. The BZA and the Employers’ Association of Medium‐Sized Personnel Services (AMP), merged in 2010/2011 to form BAP, and Enkerts was elected president after the merger. Enkerts has also been a board member of the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA), since 1998. Since 1989, he has run the Hamburg‐based company FLEX‐TIME GmbH as owner and Managing Director.

Mark Verstraete is the managing director of t-groep, the sixth-largest staffing firm in Belgium and the 31st-largest in Europe with operations in the Netherlands and Poland. In 2008, Verstraete led the acquisition of the Dutch privately held human resource company Luba by t-groep, starting its international expansion and strengthening its position in the Benelux market for personnel services. In 2016, the t-groep management, alongside investor Gilde Buy Out Partners, acquired all the remaining shares held by the Flemish government. Verstraete currently sits at the management board of Federgon, the Belgian staffing association, as president of the Temporary Agency Work Commission.

Jan Gupta is president of The Adecco Group’s Modis brand, the group’s IT and engineering staffing and solutions division. He assumed this newly created role and joined The Adecco Group’s executive committee in 2019. A German national, Gupta’s experience includes managing global teams at engineering and technology businesses. His academic background is in mechanical engineering and economics. Gupta holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from Aachen University, Germany. His career spans more than 20 years in the technology industry, most recently as COO and board member of Schunk Group, a German advanced engineering company.

Tig Gilliam was appointed CEO of NES Global Talent, a specialist provider of engineering talent solutions, in 2014. He joined the board of directors in 2013. Before NES Global Talent, Gilliam was operating partner for AEA Investors LP, a private equity firm. From 2007 to 2012, he was regional head and executive committee member of Adecco Group North America. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at PwC Consulting and IBM Global Business Services, leading the global supply chain management practice. Gilliam is chairman of NY-based Work Market Inc., the freelance management system used by businesses to manage their independent contractors.

Nigel Heap is managing director EMEA and UK and Ireland, chairman Asia Pacific for Hays, the sixth-largest staffing firm in the world with global revenue of €6.5 billion. Heap has been a member of the Hays management board for many years and is responsible for 16 of the 33 countries in Hays. He joined Hays UK in 1988 as a trainee consultant. A few promotions later, in 2012, Heap was appointed UK & Ireland managing director and chairman of the Asia Pacific business, and in 2017 he was appointed managing director of 12 countries in the EMEA region.

As deputy general manager and CFO, Yvon Drouet oversees finance and investment at global staffing firm Synergie and plays a key role in the group’s expansion efforts. Paris-based Synergie ranks as the sixth-largest staffing firm in France. It also ranks as the 18th-largest in the world, operating in 17 countries with 770 branches. In 2021, Synergie increased its stake in DCS Easyware, a digital services company based in Lyon, France, to 100% from 66%. DCS operates in France, Belgium and Spain.

Alexandre Pham is president of Mistertemp’ group, a digital staffing provider in France. Under Pham’s leadership, the company registered 1.6 million candidates on its platform and last year launched Mybonus, a fidelity programme designed for rewarding workers. Pham is also closely involved in the company’s partnership with Proxite, an association dedicated to empowering vulnerable young people by providing employment opportunities. As the first staffing agency in France to buy a parcel on Sandbox, a decentralised, community-driven platform in the metaverse, Mistertemp’ group has opened new doors of possibilities to attract, retain and select the right talent.

Alain Dehaze

Alain Dehaze became CEO of Adecco in 2015. He joined the Adecco Group in 2009 as regional head of Northern Europe and was appointed regional head of France in 2011. Between 2002 and 2009, Dehaze held executive roles at Humares, USG People and Solvus. Prior to 2002, he held a number of leadership positions at Creyf’s Interim in Belgium (now Start People), Henkel and ISS.

Since January 2016, Dehaze has been chair of the Global Apprenticeship Network. He was VP of the European Confederation of Private Employment Agencies, now the World Employment Confederation Europe, and a board member of Ciett, now the World Employment Confederation, between December 2010 and December 2015.

Neil Carberry in 2018 became CEO of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, the professional body representing the UK’s £39 billion recruitment industry. Carberry and his team have played a critical role in getting recruiters access to key government support in the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. Before moving to REC, Carberry was managing director for people and infrastructure at the CBI, where he led the work of the UK’s leading business organisation on employment law and relations, the labour market, education and skills, energy, climate and infrastructure. He is a council member of the conciliation service ACAS and was appointed to the Low Pay Commission in 2014.
