As managing director of Europe and Asia Pacific and a member of the Cielo Global executive team, Seb O’Connell helps shape the strategic direction as the company continues to expand. Under his leadership, Cielo in the past two years has opened additional offices in Budapest, Singapore, Manchester and Manila. He joined Cielo in 2015 after serving as managing director for Randstad Sourceright UK. He is passionate about truly understanding the root of the talent acquisition challenges and ambitions of his clients. He previously served on the EMEA Regional Advisory Board for the HRO Today Services & Technology Association. O’Connell is frequently quoted in the media and is a highly regarded speaker at conferences and seminars.

Denis Pennel has been managing director of the World Employment Confederation (previously Ciett) since 2005. Pennel promotes the interests of the staffing industry before international institutions such as the European Union, the International Labour Organization, the World Bank and the OECD. Prior to his current role, he served as corporate communications director for Manpower France from 1998 to 2005. A work futurist, he is best known for his thought leadership role on the changing world of work, acting as a keynote speaker and writing many opinion pieces and several books, including The Ego Revolution at Work (2015) and Travail, la soif de liberté (Work, the thirst for freedom, 2017).

Frank Farrelly is COO and co-founder of Sigmar Recruitment and has served as president of the National Recruitment Federation’s executive committee since 2016. He leads the team that lobbies the government on employment legislation, recruitment matters and GDPR, and was instrumental in helping the Federation secure an Apprenticeship in Recruitment practice on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications in 2018. Farrelly has been a nonexecutive director for The People Group. In 2018, Sigmar Recruitment formed a strategic partnership with Groupe Adéquat, one of the 50 largest global staffing firms in the world, according to SIA. A graduate of UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, he currently sits on the external interview panel for the MBA programme at Dublin City University.

Samuel Tual is president of Groupe Actual, a privately held staffing firm in the French market. In 2016, he won the Ernst & Young Strategic Vision Award for the West Region in France. In the same year, Actual successfully integrated a number of recent acquisitions and grew its revenue by 50%. Actual was co-founded in 2001 by Tual and his father from the merger of their respective staffing firms. In 2014, Samuel Tual was able to secure investments from private equity partners CM-CIC Capital Finance and Ouest Croissance in order to pursue the group’s growth strategy in its home market.

Jacques van den Broek joined Randstad as a branch manager in 1988. Prior to joining Randstad, he held various positions at Vendex KBB. After appointments as regional director in the Netherlands and, subsequently, marketing director Europe, van den Broek joined the executive board in 2004, and was appointed CEO in 2014. He is responsible for Germany, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, India, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. In addition, he is responsible for the group’s IT, business concept development, HR, marketing and communications, and public affairs. Van den Broek studied law at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.

Tig Gilliam has been CEO of NES Global Talent, a specialist provider of engineering talent solutions, since 2014. He joined the board in 2013. Prior to NES Global Talent, Gilliam was operating partner for AEA Investors, a private equity firm. From 2007 to 2012, he was regional head and executive committee member of The Adecco Group North America. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at PwC Consulting and IBM Global Business Services, leading the global supply chain management practice. Gilliam is also chairman of New York-based Work Market Inc., a freelance management system used by businesses to manage their independent contractors.

Lord Michael Ashcroft is an international businessman, author, philanthropist and pollster. He was appointed nonexecutive chairman of Impellam Group plc in 2014. Ashcroft resigned from the House of Lords in March 2015, stating that his other activities did not permit him “to devote the time that membership of the Lords properly required”. He is the founder and chairman of Crimestoppers, vice patron of the Intelligence Corps Museum, a trustee of Imperial War Museum, a trustee of the Cleveland Clinic in the US, ambassador to SkillForce, a trustee and president of the West India Committee, chairman of the Trustees of Ashcroft Technology Academy, and chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University in the UK.

Didier Bench, executive chairman of Lumesse, has more than 25 years’ experience in the leadership and development of international technology firms, digital companies and investment funds. He has held senior management positions with a series of software companies, successfully turning them into profitable and major players. Bench has also supported investment decisions for a number of major private equity and investment funds. In addition to HgCapital, he has been a senior advisor for SilverLake Sumeru and a senior partner for CDP Technology Ventures, a Canadian private equity fund that is part of Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec operating in the North American and European markets. He is also nonexecutive chairman of EidosMedia.

Thierry Geffroy is the CEO of Samsic RH, the staffing business owned by the French facility management group Samsic. Samsic RH ranks among the 10 largest staffing firms in France, and as one of the largest privately owned firms in the market. Thierry joined Samsic in 1992 and in 1998 moved into a leadership role where he was responsible for driving growth. As of 2018, Samsic RH has expanded throughout Europe with more than 300 branches in nearly 10 countries. Samsic RH had turnover of €2 billion in 2017 and has 80,000 employees.

Award-winning entrepreneur Viktor Calabrò launched Staff Finder, an on-demand staffing platform, in 2009. The platform, now known as Coople, counts more than 250,000 users in Zurich and London. The company has 120 full-time employees and 10,000 registered clients in the UK and Switzerland. Before he launched the platform, Calabrò worked as a programmer for management tools at UBS and as a consultant for Trivadis, a Swiss IT company, where he focused on process optimisation. In 2003, he launched his first entrepreneurial endeavour, La Folie, a Zurich-based events promotions agency. He was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young in 2014. In 2016, Coople was listed in the top 10 of the Best Businesses at London Technology Week by Forbes.
