As managing director, UK, for Robert Half, Matt Weston works alongside UK leadership teams to focus on enhancing company culture and retaining the best talent. Weston aims to enhance the careers of Robert Half’s people by harnessing the opportunities emerging out of the economic recovery. Weston is on the board of Bristol tech startup Hapori, which focuses on personal training and fitness. He also heads the company’s fundraising initiatives with Mind and Make-A-Wish, as well as increasing the organisation’s impact on skills and employability through partnerships with Multiverse and Amazon Web Service.

Brian Wilkinson is CEO of Matchtech Group Plc, having joined the company in December 2013. Wilkinson has worked in the recruitment industry for more than 35 years and brings extensive international as well as M&A experience to Matchtech. Wilkinson has been an active proponent of raising standards over that time, serving terms as chairman of both the FRES and the REC. In 2015, he was presented with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award by the REC.

Alan Savage formed Inverness-based Orion Group in 1987 to serve the booming engineering sector. The award-winning group now operates across a number of industry sectors — oil and gas, power and utilities, energy, rail, IT, mining, office and commercial and construction and infrastructure — placing over 4,000 contractors every year via its offices throughout Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa. In the last three years, Orion has supported and donated over £1.5 million to worthwhile projects and charities. Early in his career, Savage worked his way through the engineering ranks as a mechanical technician followed by a stint as a sales and marketing consultant.

Martin Foulser is the group managing director of TRS Staffing Solutions and a VP of Fluor Corp. Since joining TRS more than 20 years ago, he has held previous positions of increasing responsibility, including five years in the US leading its North American operations. Foulser has played a leading role in building TRS into the global player it is today, with more than 19 global offices and a contracted workforce of 5,000-plus professionals. TRS specialises in the support of some of the world’s largest and most challenging engineering projects, supplying professional engineering and construction personnel through the entire project life cycle.

Ged Mason has been at the helm of the business since 1999, taking over from his father, Gerry Mason, who founded the company in 1969. Ged Mason originally joined Morson in 1986, following university and a role within a technical recruiter in Canada. In 2016, he received the Officer of the Order of the British Empire award, for services to engineering and design in the UK. Morson Group was floated on AIM in 2006 and taken private again in 2012. Morson have made a number of strategic acquisitions, including; Wynnwith (2011), Vital Human Resources (2013), The Bridge (IT Recruitment) in 2017 and CTSNA (North America) and Anderselite in 2018.

Julia Robertson has long been motivated by her belief that there is “a better way to do recruitment”. She became Impellam Group’s chief executive officer in 2013 after joining Tate in 1996, which was later acquired to form part of what is now Impellam Group. Prior to Impellam Group, Robertson was chief executive of the Institute of Employment Consultants (now known as the Recruitment & Employment Confederation), the professional body for the UK recruitment industry. She also founded her own recruitment business in 1986, which was sold to the Group alongside Tate. In 2016, Robertson received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute of Recruitment Professionals.

Simon Wassall has been with Harvey Nash for more than 20 years and joined the PLC board in 2005. As European managing director, he is responsible for the UK and European professional recruitment operations. Prior to joining Harvey Nash, Wassall opened several new operations for Austin Benn, which led to his board appointment to a newly acquired advertising and marketing company. Wassall is actively involved in the community and participates in Byte Night: the IT industry’s annual sleep-out in support of Action for Children. In 2017, Harvey Nash posted revenue of £889 million and acquired IT solutions recruitment firm Crimson Ltd. and Swedish HR consultancy PAT Management.

James Reed is chairman of Reed Global. Founded in 1960, it now has more than 3,000 employees working in 140 locations worldwide. During the Covid-19 crisis, Reed co-launched the Keep Britain Working campaign to preserve jobs and donated £100,000 to the National Emergencies Trust Covid Appeal, matched by a £100,000 donation from the Reed Foundation made via The Big Give. He joined the company in 1992 after graduating from Harvard Business School. Reed is also a published author and has written The 7 Second CV, Why You? and 101 Interview Questions You’ll Never Fear Again; he also co-authored Put Your Mindset to Work.

Stephen Trigg serves as CEO of Hertfordshire, England-based staffing firm Quanta Consultancy Services. The company has won several awards including the Princess Royal Training Award in 2018. This year, Trigg is leading his team safely through the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and has created business opportunities internationally, including in the US. Trigg also supports five local charities through multiple fundraising events. His recruitment career began in 1974 when he founded several companies before founding Quantum Consultancy Services in 1992, followed by Quanta Consultancy Services in Switzerland in 1996.
