A certified auditor, Robert Jan van de Kraats joined Randstad in 2001 as CFO. Van de Kraats was appointed as vice-chairman of the executive board in 2006. He is responsible for Japan, India, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. In addition, he is responsible for group finance and accounting, tax, treasury, business risk and audit, legal, IT and investor relations. He is also a board member of OCI NV, a member of the supervisory board of Schiphol Group, and a member of the monitoring committee of the Dutch Corporate Governance Code.

Margriet Spijker is general manager of private Dutch staffing firm Timing, a part of the ADG services group. According to research from Staffing Industry Analysts, Timing is the fifth-largest staffing firm in the Netherlands. Spijker has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry, having joined the company as a consultant in 1988 and held various management positions, including deputy manager, before being appointed general manager in 2012.

Based in Switzerland, Dinette Koolhaas serves as VP and operations leader, EMEA, for Kelly Services. Koolhaas is also a board member for Kelly’s joint venture, TS Kelly Asia Pacific. Koolhaas joined Kelly Services in 2008 as VP and regional general manager for Western Europe, where she led eight country general managers to deliver on regional and country-specific growth strategies. She was promoted to VP and operations leader for EMEA in 2013. Koolhaas started her career as a consultant at a logistic consultancy agency in Holland before moving to USG People, with whom she remained for more than 12 years. She holds an MBA and is a board member of the World Employment Confederation.

Jacques van den Broek joined Randstad as a branch manager in 1988. Prior to joining Randstad, he held various positions at Vendex KBB. After appointments as regional director in the Netherlands and, subsequently, marketing director Europe, van den Broek joined the executive board in 2004, and was appointed CEO in 2014. He is responsible for Germany, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, India, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. In addition, he is responsible for the group’s IT, business concept development, HR, marketing and communications, and public affairs. Van den Broek studied law at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.

Mariette Patijn is an official at FNV Bondgenoten, the largest union in the Netherlands, and a member of the union’s executive committee since May 2013. She represents the interests of temporary workers. Since 1995 she contributed substantially to the creation of collective labour agreements for temporary workers, including the one concluded last year, with equal pay from day one of an assignment.

As chief digital officer at Randstad nv and a member of the executive board, René Steenvoorden is responsible for Randstad’s digital strategy, including the launch of the Digital Factory, which underpins Randstad’s Tech & Touch strategy by developing digital tools at speed and scale. He is also responsible for IT, marketing and communications globally. Recently, Steenvoorden spearheaded the launch of Randstad Marketing Insights, creating a global data ocean of aggregated data to better support both clients and talent with early insights into labor trends and skill scarcity. Prior to joining Randstad, he served as CIO at Rabobank.

Dinette Koolhaas joined Kelly Services in 2008 and was named VP and head of operations for Kelly’s EMEA operations in 2013. In 2017, she became VP and managing director for Kelly Services in EMEA. In her role, she provides strategic direction with a focus on life science, FEE (perm placement), project resourcing and local specialties. Through education and experience, Koolhaas consistently informs clients and talent about the importance of adapting to the way technology has revolutionised how exceptional talent is acquired, developed and retained. She is a member of the board of directors of PersolKelly APAC, a joint venture between Kelly Services and Persol Holdings Co. Ltd.

Jan Arie van Barneveld has been CEO of Brunel International since 2000, succeeding Jan Brand who had held the position since founding the company in 1975. He started his career as a senior manager at Coopers & Lybrand, which merged with Price Waterhouse in 1998 to form PwC. Van Barneveld then held successive management positions at companies in Belgium and the Netherlands. His most recent position before moving to Brunel International was Director of Avero Life & Mortgages, which is part of the Achmea Insurance Group.

J.H. (Jurriën) Koops, managing director at ABU — the Dutch Federation of Employment Agencies — since 2014, is responsible for the daily management of the bureau. In 2018, ABU introduced a social agenda to enhance public support for temporary work in the Netherlands. The agenda also guides the members of ABU in their daily business. Koops joined ABU in 2002 as head of its Labour Conditions and Legal Affairs team. He was appointed assistant director in 2009 and named director of social affairs in 2012. Koops is also a member of several boards, including the Foundation for Training and Development in the Staffing Industry (Doorzaam) and SNCU.
