As chief digital officer at Randstad nv since 2019 and a member of its executive board, René Steenvoorden is responsible for Randstad’s digital strategy, digital strategy and its implementation across the group worldwide. He also serves as CIO and oversees IT, marketing and communications globally. Steenvoorden is passionate about AI and its influence on the future of work to help both talent and clients prosper. He supports several charities and advises organisations such as the City of Amsterdam and NPM Capital. Steenvoorden previously was a supervisory board member of KPMG the Netherlands, taught cybersecurity at Nyenrode University and helped start the National Cyber Security Council.

USG People is the fourth-largest staffing firm in Europe.

In addition to her role as Randstad’s managing director, global public affairs, Annemarie Muntz until September was president of the World Employment Confederation, the voice of the employment industry at the global level. She has dedicated her professional life to broadening the recognition of the positive economic and social role that the HR services industry plays. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Muntz is particularly proud of this year’s launch of the “Safely Back to Work” initiative, an alliance spearheaded by Randstad NV, The Adecco Group and ManpowerGroup to enable companies and workers to return to work safely.

Annemarie Muntz is president of Ciett, the International Confederation of Private Employment Services, and its European counterpart Eurociett. She is an influential lobbyist in the European Union, representing the interests of agency work businesses. In addition to her roles at Ciett and Eurociett, Muntz is director group public affairs for Randstad. She also sits on the boards of CSR Europe, a European business network for corporate social responsibility, and SNCU, an organisation responsible for monitoring compliance with collective agreements in the Netherlands.

Rob Zandbergen serves as the managing corporate executive officer at Recruit Holdings Co. Ltd. and heads its global staffing business unit, RGF Staffing. With annual revenue of approximately US$12 billion, Recruit is the fourth-largest staffing firm in the world. Driven by wanting to help the global community, Zandbergen and his team took a proactive role in slowing the spread of Covid-19 by training and hiring thousands of certified employees at the testing and vaccination sites in addition to providing mentoring schemes for disadvantaged groups, raising funds for LGBTQ+ charities and supporting local schools in their early career support initiatives.

Jan Arie van Barneveld has been CEO of Brunel International since 2000, succeeding Jan Brand who had held the position since founding the company in 1975. He started his career as a senior manager at Coopers & Lybrand, which merged with Price Waterhouse in 1998 to form PwC. Van Barneveld then held successive management positions at companies in Belgium and the Netherlands. His most recent position before moving to Brunel International was Director of Avero Life & Mortgages, which is part of the Achmea Insurance Group.

In December 2017, Jilko Andringa was appointed CEO of Brunel International, a global provider of specialist workforce solutions. Under Andringa’s leadership, Brunel in December 2021 acquired Taylor Hopkinson, the global leader in renewable energy recruitment solutions. Andringa plans to further accelerate Brunel’s pro­ table growth development and drive a balanced ESG agenda, including better diversity in succession planning to foster equity in all levels of the organisation. His most recent position prior to Brunel was president, Northern Europe, of ManpowerGroup; he previously held management positions at Randstad. Andringa is also a member of the supervisory board of EW Facility Services.

Rob Zandbergen was appointed CEO of USG People in 2010, having served as the company’s CFO since 2005. Zandbergen was CFO of Belgian staffing group Solvus between 2003 and 2005, when the company was acquired by USG People. In addition to his work at USG People, Zandbergen is a member of the supervisory board of the Dutch Flower Group and was appointed to the supervisory board of Dutch energy company Eneco Holding in March 2015.

Jacques van den Broek was appointed CEO and chairman of the executive board of Randstad nv in March 2014. He is responsible for Germany, the United Kingdom and Ireland. In addition, van den Broek is responsible for global IT, business concept development, HR, marketing and communications and public affairs. He joined Randstad as a branch manager in 1988. Appointments followed as regional director in the Netherlands and, subsequently, as marketing director Randstad Europe. In 2002, he moved to Capac Inhouse Services as managing director, also taking on responsibility for Randstad in Denmark and Switzerland.

After writing a thesis on temporary work as part of his master’s degree in economics, Frits Goldschmeding, together with a fellow student, founded Uitzendbureau Amstelveen (later Randstad Uitzendbureau) in 1960. He held the CEO position for 38 years, growing the company and actively lobbying to improve the image of the staffing industry as well as strengthen the legal position of staffing employees. Goldschmeding joined the supervisory board of Randstad Holding in 1999 and retired from that position in 2011. In 2015, he founded the Goldschmeding Foundation, which supports projects that respond to important societal issues involving people, work and economy.
