In February 2015, Stefano Scabbio was appointed president of Mediterranean Southern Europe Region. Scabbio joined ManpowerGroup in September 2003 as financial director of Italy. In 2006 he was appointed managing director of ManpowerGroup Italy and shortly after he became president. In 2008 he became a member of the EMEA strategic executive team. Then in 2010 with the newly created Southern Europe Region, his role expanded to regional managing director of Italy and Iberia. In 2014 Scabbio become president of Assolavoro, the Italian Association of Private Employment Agencies. Scabbio established LincMagazine, a ManpowerGroup newsletter that focuses on the economy and labour market in Italy and is the author of a variety of books, including Genesis reform: the new labour market.

Maria Raffaella Caprioglio is president of Umana Spa, which ranked No. 5 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2016 list of largest staffing firms in Italy. At the age of 23, she joined the then Industrial Association for the province of Venice, becoming the first woman to hold office within that organization. In 1998, Caprioglio left Confindustria to join Umana, and in 2001 she joined Umana’s board of directors. She became VP in 2007 and president in 2012.

Caprioglio is a member of the general council of Assolombarda Confindustria Milano, Monza and Brianza; vice chairman of the Ict Group; and president of the Professional Services Section.

Since 2007, Agostino Di Maio has served as managing director of Assolavoro, a trade association representing approximately 90% of the consolidated income derived from the temporary work industry in Italy. In 2018 and 2019, the Italian government introduced restrictive regulations on the sector, to which Assolavoro responded with institutional relations, lobbying, media relations and by proposing improvements to the legislative process. Di Maio also promoted a powerful communication campaign — the largest ever undertaken in Italy — on the role of work agencies. The final labour reform voted by the Italian Parliament is less restrictive for the sector than the first draft, although much remains to be done.

Marco Vittorelli is president of Italian staffing firm Openjobmetis S.p.A. He has held the role since 2011. Vittorelli was vice chairman of the board of Horatius SIM from 2004 to 2012 and has been board director of Compagnie Monegasque de Banque since 2006. He was the founder and chairman of Metis S.p.A. and has held the office of chairman of the board of Openjobmetis S.p.A. since 2011. In 2020, Openjobmetis acquired disability employment agency Jobdisabili and education firm Lyve. In 2021, the group acquired employment agency Quanta Ressources Humaines.

In April 2017, Federico Vione was appointed regional head of North America, UK and Ireland, Adecco and Pontoon. He had been chief sales and innovation officer from October 2015; and regional head of Italy, Eastern Europe and India from September 2011 to September 2015. Vione originally joined Adecco in 1999 as a branch manager and held several leadership roles until his appointment as country manager of Adecco Italy in 2009. Vione was VP of Assolavoro, the Italian Association of Private Employment Agencies, between 2010 and 2012 and has been a member of the executive committee of Adecco since October 2009.

With 2019 total turnover of €720 million, Umana is now the fifth-largest staffing firm in Italy and one of the few funded entirely with Italian capital. Caprioglio is a member of the national General Council of the Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria) and sits on the board of many local industrial associations throughout the country.
