Alistair Cox has been chief executive of London-based global staffing firm Hays plc since 2007. A chartered engineer, Cox began his career at British Aerospace, subsequently moving to Schlumberger in 1982 where he held a number of roles in field engineering, management and research science. After earning an MBA from Stanford, Alistair worked for McKinsey & Co. before joining Blue Circle Industries plc, where he was the group strategy director and then the regional director for Asia. Prior to joining Hays, Cox was chief executive of the IT outsourcing organisation Xansa plc. From 2009 to 2015, he was a nonexecutive director of 3i Group plc.
