Bettina Schaller heads the group public affairs activities of The Adecco Group and serves as president of the World Employment Confederation, the voice of private employment services worldwide. Active on several economic and labor-market committees, she is vicechair of the Business at OECD ELSA (Employment, Labor and Social Affairs) Committee, a member of the B20 Future of Work and Education Task Force, and a steering group member on the World Economic Forum Center for New Economy and Society. Schaller is a founding member of “The Boardroom,” a Swiss initiative launched in 2021 to drive board diversity and develop a pipeline of future female leaders.

As a board member of the World Employment Confederation, Bettina Schaller was appointed president of the WEC Europe in December 2017. She also oversees the public affairs activities of The Adecco Group. Schaller is also a member of the B20 Employment and Education Task Force; sits on the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development’s Employment, Labor and Social Affairs committee; sits as steering group member on the World Economic Forum Center for New Economy and Society; acts as company focal point for the Global Apprenticeship Network; and is the president of the American Swiss Young Leaders Alumni Foundation.

Viktor Calabrò launched Staff Finder, the on-demand staffing platform now known as Coople, in 2009. With 350,000 registered “Cooplers” and 18,000 registered companies, Coople operates in Switzerland and the UK. Together with the social welfare office in Bern, Switzerland, Calabrò in 2018 spearheaded an initiative to reintroduce welfare recipients and the socially disadvantaged back into the workforce through Coople’s platform. Calabrò and his team are also working with GastroGraubünden, a Swiss hospitality and gastronomy association, to build a single directory of flexible staff for the eastern region. Calabrò is the author of Flexible Workforce, which explores the challenges of the modern workplace.

Bernard Zen-Ruffinen is president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, for Korn Ferry, which he joined in 2009. From 2000 to 2009, he was the Swiss managing partner for Heidrick & Struggles and European head of the board and CEO practice. Previously, he served as president and CEO of DHL/ Danzas Latin America, a company belonging to Deutsche Post World Net group. In the 1990s, he was a founding member of Precious Woods and more recently was a founder of Monarca Coffee Wood, two companies dedicated to counteracting the effect of deforestation and global warming. Zen-Ruffinen is the 2013 recipient of the AESC European Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Executive Search Profession.

Martin Pestalozzi was recruited into the staffing industry by Adia founder Henri-Ferdinand Lavanchy to help lead the company in 1974. Pestalozzi became president and CEO in 1979. During his tenure, Adia purchased more than 85 companies, tripling its size and operating in more than a dozen countries. It reached $1 billion in 1986, claiming the largest share of the market in Switzerland, France and Germany. In 1996, Adia and Ecco — two of the world’s top three personnel services firms — merged to form Adecco. Prior to Adia, Pestalozzi had several years’ experience at US-based consumer services and manufacturing businesses.

Award-winning entrepreneur Viktor Calabrò launched Staff Finder, an on-demand staffing platform, in 2009. The platform, now known as Coople, counts more than 250,000 users in Zurich and London. The company has 120 full-time employees and 10,000 registered clients in the UK and Switzerland. Before he launched the platform, Calabrò worked as a programmer for management tools at UBS and as a consultant for Trivadis, a Swiss IT company, where he focused on process optimisation. In 2003, he launched his first entrepreneurial endeavour, La Folie, a Zurich-based events promotions agency. He was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young in 2014. In 2016, Coople was listed in the top 10 of the Best Businesses at London Technology Week by Forbes.
