Agostino Di Maio has served as general manager of Assolavoro, Italy’s national association for employment agencies, since 2007. Under Di Maio’s guidance, Assolavoro achieved an agreement with trade unions in 2022 to provide comprehensive support to refugees of all nationalities, including training and welfare, with a private allocation of €45 million. Di Maio also facilitated a partnership between Assolavoro and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to implement the agreement. Assolavoro was honoured with the World Employment Confederation award in 2023 in recognition of these initiatives. Additionally, Di Maio sits on the board of Ebitemp and the executive committee of the WEC.
