Hitoshi Motohara’s career with Recruit Holdings Co. Ltd., the fifth-largest staffing firm in the world, spans more than three decades; he became an advisor in April 2018 after stepping down as head of its Global Staffing Business in December 2017 and as managing corporate executive officer in March 2018. In 2007, he headed the acquisition of Staff Service and since 2009, after becoming managing corporate executive officer and board director of Recruit Co. Ltd., Motohara conducted cross-border acquisitions of CSI, Staffmark, Advantage Resourcing, Peoplebank, Chandler Macleod and USG People. He also served for two years as the president of the Japan Staffing Services Association. Motohara joined Recruit in 1983.
