Nicola McQueen has been CEO of NHS Professionals since 2019. With over 20 years’ experience in creating effective staffing strategies across both the private and public sectors, McQueen is passionate about championing workforce solutions and staff well-being. McQueen is spearheading a technology-led transformation programme to enhance the experience of all of NHS Professionals’ customers as well as leading service delivery into the recently formed Integrated Care Systems. She continues to grow key parts of the NHS, such as its international offering and non-nursing businesses.

Timo Lehne began his career in staffing in 2006 at SThree’s Progressive Recruitment business in Germany. Now Lehne serves as CEO for SThree. He is also a member of Apsco Germany and the World Economic Council, and he is a founding member of the German Freelance Association. In 2022, Lehne led SThree to a record net fee and profit performance for the year with like-for-like net fees up 19% and profits up 24%. This was due to the successful execution of strategies Lehne put in place. Going forward, Lehne plans on growing SThree and enhancing its candidate and client experience through a targeted technology improvement programme.

Originally a Royal Airforce helicopter mechanic, Smith happened upon staffing and has loved every moment of her more than 25 years in the industry. Now responsible for defining Magnit’s global client delivery strategy, Smith takes insight-driven action to improve customer experience through advances in technology. Passionate about leadership, she focuses on uniting the organisation around aligned goals and culture. Smith also gives back to the community through youth mentorship and board work.

Alessandro Ramazza became president of Ebitemp, the national bilateral agency for temporary work in Italy, in February 2023. Its purpose is to protect and aid temporary workers from the hardships and barriers of work discontinuity. Prior to Ebitemp, Ramazza was president of Assolavoro, the National Association of Employment Agencies in Italy, and served as chairman for Intempo SpA and a board member for Randstad Group Italia. He continues to be a member of Randstad Research Committee, which provides insights into future market and employment trends.

For more than 20 years as deputy CEO of France-based Groupe Crit’s management team and president of the temporary employment division, Nathalie Jaoui drove global growth strategy with an emphasis on corporate social responsibility. She was appointed chairman and CEO in 2022. Already a provider with more than 8,000 employees in 12 countries, Jaoui led Groupe Crit to €2.34 billion in 2022, an increase of 15% year over year, alongside net income growth of 54%.

After graduating university, Brakewell held roles in staffing and RPO before joining WilsonHCG in 2018. In the last year, Brakewell helped WilsonHCG launch a research centre in Romania. A mentor through and through, he enjoys the opportunity as VP to help shape the company’s up-and-comers in executive search. Looking ahead, Brakewell plans to help WilsonHCG further develop its sector and regional focus within executive search and continue to grow headcount across the world.

Nicholas Kirk joined PageGroup as a consultant in the UK Leeds office in 1995, when the company operated in just six countries and had only 622 employees. In January 2023, Kirk became PageGroup’s chief executive officer. Today, PageGroup has 8,800 employees operating in 37 countries. It was ranked by SIA as the 15th-largest staffing firm in Europe in 2022 and reported revenue of £1.99 billion in that year. He had been executive board director and regional managing director, UK&I and North America for a year prior to his appointment as CEO. Kirk believes that social mobility can play a significant part in meeting talent shortages.
