Franz-Josef Schürmann serves as the regional head of Germany, Austria, Switzerland (DACH) for Adecco, a position he has held since January 2016. He started his career at Accenture in 1996. As a member of the German and European leadership teams of Accenture, in 2008 he was named global client partner for several DAX 30 companies. From 2010 to 2015, Schürmann was country head of Germany for Infosys Ltd. He is board director at AmCham, the American Chamber of Commerce and for Bitkom, the German IT and Communications Industry association. He is a member of the Senate of Acatech, the national academy of science and engineering.

Hitoshi Motohara is head of Recruit Holdings Global Staffing. He joined Japan’s Recruit Group in 1983. After being promoted to president and representative director of Recruit Staffing in 2003, Motohara was consistently engaged in the temporary staffing business of the group. In 2007, Motohara headed the acquisition of Staff Service and was appointed president and representative director. Since 2009, after becoming managing corporate executive officer and board director of Recruit Co. Ltd., Motohara conducted cross-border acquisitions of CSI, Staffmark, Advantage Resourcing, Peoplebank, Chandler Macleod and USG People. Motohara is responsible for the group’s temporary staffing business.

As deputy CEO of Robert Walters plc, Giles Daubeney works closely with the chairman and the board, taking a more active role in the company’s strategy while also maintaining the responsibilities of his previous COO role. He joined the company in 1988 and became deputy CEO in January 2016. From 1990 to 1994, he was based in Amsterdam and responsible for the group’s Dutch and Belgian operations. Daubeney became COO in 1999, and was appointed to the board in 2000. Prior to Robert Walters, Daubeney worked in recruitment for Accountancy Selection Ltd. and Badenoch & Clark Ltd.

A USA-qualified chartered accountant, Paul Venables started his career at Deloitte & Touche, where he was a senior manager in its USA practice. This was followed by a 13-year career at Exel plc, where he held a number of senior finance and operational roles, including deputy group finance director, and was a member of the executive board of Exel plc and chairman of its Acquisitions and Project Review Board. Following the acquisition of Exel plc by Deutsche Post, Venables worked in its DHL Logistics division before joining Hays plc. Venables was also senior independent nonexecutive director of Wincanton plc. until July 2015.

As former deputy general manager and CFO of global staffing firm Synergie, Yvon Drouet oversaw finance and investment and played a key role in the group’s expansion efforts. In 2022, Synergie acquired Poland-based Interkadra and Runtime Group in Germany, strengthening the company’s standing in those countries. This acquisition enables the company to meet the needs of its customers and clients in Poland, Germany and abroad. Along with its strong foothold in Western Europe, Synergie actively pursues its development in Eastern Europe. After a long career in staffing, Drouet retired in July 2023.

Chris Heutink started his career at Randstad as a consultant in the Netherlands in 1991. Various management positions followed until 2004, when he was promoted to managing director of Randstad Poland. After moving back to the Netherlands in 2007, he became director of operations. In 2009, he was appointed managing director of Randstad Netherlands. Heutink is responsible for all operations in the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Eastern Europe (Poland, Turkey, Greece, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Hungary), as well as for global client solutions. He was appointed to the executive board in 2014.

Steve Ingham is CEO of PageGroup, one of the largest staffing firms globally. PageGroup has won awards worldwide as a great place to work, was rewarded for Best Diversity Initiative at the CIPD People Management Awards in 2014 and recognised as the Most Socially Engaged Recruiter 2015 by LinkedIn. Ingham joined the company in 1987, when it was still known as Michael Page, as a consultant. He was promoted to operating director in 1990 and then to the board as executive director of UK operations in 2001. He became managing director of UK operations in 2005 and was appointed chief executive officer in 2006.

In 2015, the private equity fund Keensight Capital took a majority stake in the company. Previously, Colella spent 14 years in the IT industry, where he held various senior positions. Colella graduated from ESSEC Business School in Paris.

Sergio Picarelli is The Adecco Group’s regional head of North America, UK and Ireland Professional Staffing and is responsible for global oversight of Lee Hecht Harrison, General Assembly, Badenoch+Clark, Spring Professional and Pontoon. He has been a member of its executive committee since 2009. Picarelli first joined Adecco in 1993, holding several leadership positions before becoming country manager of Adecco Italy and Switzerland from 2005 to 2009 (Switzerland until the end of 2008). He was the group’s chief sales officer from 2009 to September 2015, when he became regional head of Italy, Eastern Europe and Middle East and North Africa.
