Alexis de Bretteville is Hudson’s CEO of Europe, the second-largest region in terms of revenue for the group. He is responsible for the management and operational leadership of the company’s European business. Before joining Hudson in 2013, de Bretteville was with Michael Page for more than 20 years, serving most recently as the managing director of the company’s Americas region and as a member of its global executive board. After spending four years helping to grow the company’s French operations into the market leader, he served as managing director of Michael Page Spain, Portugal and South America, and then as regional managing director of Central and Northern Europe.

Denis Pennel was appointed managing director of Ciett in April 2005. Pennel promotes the interests of the staffing industry before international institutions, such as the European Union (EU), the International Labour Organisation (ILO) the World Bank and theOECD. Prior to his appointment, he served as corporate communications director for Manpower France (1998-2005). He is best known for his advocacy work during the writing phase of the Agency Work Directive as well as his efforts to ensure the optimal transposition of the directive across Europe.

Miles Hunt launched private equity investment firm Benula Capital in 2013; it now has nine investments in the staffing sector including staffing companies, HR consulting firms and providers of recruiting technology. Prior to Benula, Hunt founded UK-based international staffing specialist Empresaria Group in 1996 and led its IPO in 2004 before stepping down as chief executive in 2011. Hunt became the first-ever chairman of Cobalt Recruitment in 2019. He also serves as chairman at Darwin Recruitment and Australia-based Davidson. Additionally, for the past four years he has been chairman of APSCo Global, which represents the professional recruitment sector in Germany, Singapore and Australia as well as the UK.
Bernard Zen-Ruffinen is president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, for Korn Ferry, which he joined in 2009. From 2000 to 2009, he was the Swiss managing partner for Heidrick & Struggles and European head of the board and CEO practice. Previously, he served as president and CEO of DHL/ Danzas Latin America, a company belonging to Deutsche Post World Net group. In the 1990s, he was a founding member of Precious Woods and more recently was a founder of Monarca Coffee Wood, two companies dedicated to counteracting the effect of deforestation and global warming. Zen-Ruffinen is the 2013 recipient of the AESC European Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Executive Search Profession.
President of Samsic Group since 2019, Thierry Geffroy has served with the firm for over 30 years. He joined Samsic RH, its HR division, in 1992 and assumed leadership of Samsic Emploi in 1998 before becoming chairman of Samsic RH in 2010. Today, Samsic Group provides HR and facility services to more than 30,000 clients in more than 25 countries, posting revenue of more than €1 billion in 2022. It was ranked by SIA among the largest staffing firms in Europe in 2022. In March, Geffroy led Samsic RH through its acquisition of AGEMS (Agence d’Emploi des Métiers de la Santé), a France-based healthcare recruitment firm.
Passionate about connecting people to work, Sam Smith is the VP and managing director of KellyOCG EMEA. Last year amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Smith and her team successfully brought to the European market OCG GO MSP — a simple, powerful and quick-to-implement platform with robust data and insights for a single country or lower-spend MSPs. The solution successfully launched with a diverse pipeline of approximately $100 million spend under management. A familiar face at industry events, Smith is a board member for Enactus UK and the newly-elected chair of Apsco Outsource.

Rob Zandbergen serves as the managing corporate executive officer at Recruit Holdings Co. Ltd. and heads its global staffing business unit, RGF Staffing. With annual revenue of approximately US$12 billion, Recruit is the fourth-largest staffing firm in the world. Driven by wanting to help the global community, Zandbergen and his team took a proactive role in slowing the spread of Covid-19 by training and hiring thousands of certified employees at the testing and vaccination sites in addition to providing mentoring schemes for disadvantaged groups, raising funds for LGBTQ+ charities and supporting local schools in their early career support initiatives.

As SVP, EMEA markets and operations, Manuel Roger is responsible for Beeline’s operations in Europe. He joined Adecco Group in 1998 as an international IT project manager, where he was responsible for front-office solutions, online testing, and e-commerce platforms. In 2002, Roger became an IT international procurement manager for Adecco Group. In 2014, he became Adecco Group global procurement director and successfully developed Adecco Group’s global procurement department. Roger served as Adecco Group’s LATAM zone finance director from 2009 to 2011. He then became SVP international product management at Beeline to expand Beeline’s product and service offerings outside of North America.
Tim Briant joined Impellam Group, a £2.26 billion UK-based staffing firm, in October 2019 as CFO and joined the board in February 2020. A chartered accountant, Briant has nearly 15 years’ recruitment industry experience. Most recently, he was CFO of Airswift and spent more than 10 years with Adecco prior to that, ultimately serving as CFO of Adecco UK and Ireland. He joined Adecco via its 2009 acquisition of Spring Group, where he served as group financial controller and company secretary. Briant played a key role in the acquisition as well as Adecco’s acquisition and integration of Penna plc.
