After working in recruitment for Accountancy Selection Ltd. and Badenoch & Clark Ltd., Giles Daubeney joined the Robert Walters plc in 1988. From 1990 to 1994, he was based in Amsterdam and was responsible for the Robert Walters’s Dutch and Belgian operations.Daubeney became COO in 1999, and was appointed to the board in July 2000.
Alessandro Ramazza is chairman of ObiettivoLavoro Group, which includes ObiettivoLavoro, the seventh largest Italian staffing firm in Italy, according to Staffing Industry Analysts research.Before becoming chairman in 2005, he was the HR department director of CMC Group of Ravenna and then at the Rodano consortium of Reggio Emilia. ObiettivoLavoro has more than 500 employees and 104 branches offices, spanning four staffing markets. Ramazza has a degree in business economics and is an executive master of the London Business School.
Ann Swain has been the CEO of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) since 1999 when it was established as a trade body focusing on technology staffing companies. In 2009, the organisation broadened its offering to provide specialist support and a voice for recruitment firms operating in professional staffing sectors in the UK and Asia. Swain has more than 30 years’ recruitment experience, including time as managing director of Learning Curve and UK sales director at Computer People. Swain is a global commentator on professional recruitment trends and a regular speaker at UK and international recruitment conferences.
Yvon Drouet is CFO of Synergie, the fifth-largest staffing firm in France and one of the largest staffing firms in Europe. Publicly listed on NYSE Euronext Paris, the company is expanding rapidly outside its home market. Drouet played an instrumental role during the acquisitions of British firms Acorn, Advance Personnel and Concept Staffing. The Acorn subsidiary is at the core of the group’s expansion strategy in the UK and Australia.
Luigi Brugnaro is president of Umana Holdings. In 1986, at the age 25, he founded EVERAP, a leading provider of commercial networks.In 1997, he founded Umana, which now has more than 700 employees and 114 branches. Between 2009-2013, he was President of Confindustria Venice (Italian employers’ federation). In October 2012 he was elected president of Assolavoro, which represents the staffing industry in Italy. Umana is the sixth largest staffing firm in Italy, according to Staffing Industry Analysts top staffing report for Italy. In 2006, he bought SSD ReyerVeneziaMestre, the oldest basketball sports club in Italy.
Kevin Barrow is a partner with law firm Osborne Clarke. Since 1990, he has advised staffing companies on all types of legal work, including commercial deals, international joint ventures and M&A.His multi-country team work for more than 100 hirers and suppliers on market-leading UK, EU and international flexible workforce (MSP, RPO and VMS) projects, regulation of digital recruitment and online exchanges, tax planning relating to flexible workforces and worker misclassification and co-employment class actions.Barrow has led a campaign to change the regulatory regime affecting online exchanges, and has rolled out staffing/MSP deals in 40 countries in the last two years.
Denis Pennel was appointed managing director of Ciett in April 2005. Pennel promotes the interests of the staffing industry before international institutions, such as the European Union (EU), the International Labour Organisation (ILO) the World Bank and theOECD. Prior to his appointment, he served as corporate communications director for Manpower France (1998-2005). He is best known for his advocacy work during the writing phase of the Agency Work Directive as well as his efforts to ensure the optimal transposition of the directive across Europe.
Natalia Shuman is SVP and GM Kelly Services Inc.’s EMEA and APAC regions. Shuman also serves as a board member of Kelly’s joint venture, TS Kelly Workforce Solutions, in North Asia. She joined Kelly in 1997 and launched Kelly’s recruitment business in the Moscow market. She relocated to New York in 2000, but moved to Singapore in 2011. She was then appointed COO to start up Kelly’s joint venture operations in China and North Asia and was based in Shanghai for over a year. Shuman was elected a board member of Ciett (the International Confederation of Private Employment Agencies) in May and is based in both Singapore and Switzerland.
Stefano Colli-Lanzi is CEO of Italian staffing firm Gi Group, which now operates –thanks to direct presence and partnerships –, in more than 40 countries worldwide. He has extensive professional and managerial experience and established Gi Group in 1998.The company, is ranked 3rd in Staffing Industry Analysts’ Largest Staffing Firms in Italy report.Colli-Lanzi is also vice chairman of Assolavoro (Italian National Association for Employment Agencies) and professor of business economics at the Milan Catholic University.
