Sebastian Lazay became president of the Federal Employers’ Association of Staffing Services (BAP) in 2017 after serving as vice resident since 2011. BAP represents the interests of the personnel services and temporary employment industry in Germany. Lazay is also managing director of Hamburg-based Extra-Personalservice GmbH, and has been closely involved with temporary work for more than 20 years. For many years, Lazay also participated in collective bargaining for temporary employment. Lazay is a member of the executive committee of the BGA, the Federal Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade, Services, and since 2015, he has been vice president of large-scale services for the BGA.

Francesco Baroni was named country manager of Gi Group Italia in 2019. In addition to coordinating the activities of Gi Group’s various brands, he leads the strategic development of an integrated value proposition to meet the increasingly complex needs of companies and candidates. He joined Gi Group in 2014 as a business innovation and technology management senior executive. Baroni previously worked for consulting firms and public institutions including at IBM and the Regione Lombardia Government. Henry Schirmer joined Randstad as CFO and member of its executive board in 2018. He is responsible for global finance and accounting, business control, M&A, tax, treasury, business risk and audit, investor relations and legal. In 2019, Randstad achieved record-high free cash flow, providing the opportunity to strengthen its balance sheet and reduce its debt position. Together with a cost optimisation program, this improved its incremental conversion ratio resulting in an EBITA of 4.9% in the last quarter. Schirmer is also a member of the board of directors of General American Investors and the non-profit organisation Results for Development.

From these forums, Cleland develops thought leadership articles to distribute within the life science industry. Some of Cleland’s proudest accomplishments of the previous year include leading her organisation in fully funding and training more than 60 graduates last year, as well as its fundraising efforts for the Marine Conservation Society.

Samuel Tual in January 2019 became president of France-based temporary employment firm Actual Leader Group, which was established in 2018 after the merger of two temporary employment firms: Groupe Actual and Leader Intérim. Tual had been president of Groupe Actual, a privately held staffing firm in the French market that he co-founded with his father in 2001 when they merged their respective staffing firms. Actual Leader Group in July 2019 acquired a majority stake of Dutch HR services firm Flexfactory (later rebranded Flexfamily). In October 2019, Tual was elected president of MEDEF Pays de la Loire; he was formerly president of MEDEF Mayenne.
