Ged Mason originally joined Morson in 1986, following university and a role within a technical recruiter in Canada. In 2016, he received the Officer of the Order of the British Empire award, for services to engineering and design in the UK. Morson Group was floated on AIM in 2006 and taken private again in 2012. Morson have made a number of strategic acquisitions, including; Wynnwith (2011), Vital Human Resources (2013), The Bridge (IT Recruitment) in 2017 and CTSNA (North America) and Anderselite in 2018.

Myra Fischer-Rosinger’s career in staffing began in 2006 when swissstaffing had just three employees. Today, as director of the Swiss association of staffing agencies, Fischer-Rosinger’s contribution has helped grow the organisation to 30 employees. This year, she was responsible for establishing new quality standards and tools for the staffing industry in the fields of occupational health and safety and digital learning. Looking ahead, she plans to strengthen the positioning of swissstaffing and the staffing industry as a solution provider for the flexibilisation of the labour market. She also aims to strengthen the quality of the staffing industry setting standards and providing tools for the industry.

Etienne Colella is the CEO of PIXID, the largest VMS in France, which he founded in 2004. PIXID offers a complete SAAS application that is compliant with the many aspects of the regulation required to provide and use temporary staff in France. In 2015, the private equity fund Keensight Capital took a majority stake in the company. Previously, Colella spent 14 years in the IT industry, where he held various senior positions. Colella graduated from ESSEC Business School in Paris.

J.H. (Jurriën) Koops, managing director at ABU — the Dutch Federation of Employment Agencies — since 2014, is responsible for the daily management of the bureau. In 2018, ABU introduced a social agenda to enhance public support for temporary work in the Netherlands. The agenda also guides the members of ABU in their daily business. Koops joined ABU in 2002 as head of its Labour Conditions and Legal Affairs team. He was appointed assistant director in 2009 and named director of social affairs in 2012. Koops is also a member of several boards, including the Foundation for Training and Development in the Staffing Industry (Doorzaam) and SNCU.

An industry veteran of more than 20 years, Sebastian Lazay was president of the Federal Employers’ Association of Staffing Services (BAP) in Germany since 2017 and previously was its VP since 2011. This year, Lazay helped lay the groundwork for the merger between BAP and the Interest Group of German Temporary Employment Agencies to form the General Association of Personnel Service Providers, of which he is now deputy. Additionally, Lazay is managing director of the Hamburg-based staffing firm Extra-Personalservice GmbH, an executive committee member of the Federal Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services, and has been VP of large-scale services since 2015.

Tom Verhaegen has led Belgian HR firm Agilitas Group as CEO since 2017. Agilitas in 2020 was acquired by France-based Proman Group, with Verhaegan remaining as CEO. Agilitas was renamed Proman North Eastern Europe after Proman Group’s acquisition of Dutch staffing firm Timing in June 2022. Prior to this, he held leadership roles with SABMiller and Grolsch. Verhaegen says that for its employees, a larger group means more development opportunities and growth opportunities. So, in the short term, Proman North Eastern Europe will work with Timing to facilitate labour migration amid an ongoing talent shortage.

Phillip Ullmann serves as chief energiser at Cordant Group. Having led the company for 23 years, Ullmann converted Cordant to a social enterprise in 2017. In 2019, he and his team co-authored Cordant’s Social Impact Report, mapping a five-point strategy to improve work opportunities with a focus on purpose, not profits. A campaign was also launched to implement the real Living Wage. This year, Cordant Group was sold to Twenty20 Investors and set up Covenant Advisory, an independent consultancy that advises business leaders on their social purpose, whilst aligning shareholders with other stakeholders.

Alongside providing members with representation, professional training and legal advice, Carberry has pushed a more commercial agenda for REC, aimed at better and more accessible business advice, delivered online and in a new regional structure. This has resulted in the REC’s highest-ever member renewal rate in 2022. Carberry is a board member of the World Employment Confederation and of the Council of Acas, the UK labour relations and strike conciliation body.
