He joined the company in 1988 and became deputy CEO in January 2016. From 1990 to 1994, he was based in Amsterdam and responsible for the group’s Dutch and Belgian operations. Daubeney became COO in 1999, and was appointed to the board in 2000. Prior to Robert Walters, Daubeney worked in recruitment for Accountancy Selection Ltd. and Badenoch & Clark Ltd.

Beesley bought the company with his business partner Keith Dawe in 1981, growing it to a €500 million-plus staffing firm. Also in 2019, Beesley and his team set up TimesTwo Investments in Bristol, an investment programme for recruitment entrepreneurs who have identified a market and are ready to strike out on their own. Beesley, who thrives on creating opportunities through people-oriented organisations that make a difference, is chair of The Prince’s Trust South West Leadership Group and the executive chairman of the Bristol Flyers basketball team.

James Reed is chairman of Reed Global. Founded in 1960, it now has more than 3,000 employees working in 140 locations worldwide. During the Covid-19 crisis, Reed co-launched the Keep Britain Working campaign to preserve jobs and donated £100,000 to the National Emergencies Trust Covid Appeal, matched by a £100,000 donation from the Reed Foundation made via The Big Give. He joined the company in 1992 after graduating from Harvard Business School. Reed is also a published author and has written The 7 Second CV, Why You? and 101 Interview Questions You’ll Never Fear Again; he also co-authored Put Your Mindset to Work.

Carmen Watson, chair and managing director of Pertemps, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award last year by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s Institute of Recruitment Professionals. She was also named Director of the Year in the West Midlands in 2018 by the Institute of Directors. Watson joined Pertemps in 1976 as a secretary. From 1983 to 2000, she was responsible for the corporate business team and turnover grew to £323 million from £32 million. One of the foremost speakers on the value of women in the boardroom, Watson is a board member at the Race for Opportunity charity.

Industry veteran Miles Hunt became the first-ever chairman of Cobalt Recruitment in 2019. He also serves as chairman at Darwin Recruitment and Australia-based Davidson. Additionally, for the past five years, he has been chairman of APSCo Global, which represents the professional recruitment sector in Germany, Singapore and Australia as well as the UK. In 2013, he launched private equity investment firm Benula Capital, which has nine investments in the staffing sector, HR consulting firms and providers of recruiting technology. Prior to Benula, Hunt founded UK-based international staffing specialist Empresaria Group in 1996 and led its IPO in 2004 before stepping down as chief executive in 2012.

Tim Briant joined Impellam Group, a £2.26 billion UK-based staffing firm, in October 2019 as CFO and joined the board in February 2020. A chartered accountant, Briant has nearly 15 years’ recruitment industry experience. Most recently, he was CFO of Airswift and spent more than 10 years with Adecco prior to that, ultimately serving as CFO of Adecco UK and Ireland. He joined Adecco via its 2009 acquisition of Spring Group, where he served as group financial controller and company secretary. Briant played a key role in the acquisition as well as Adecco’s acquisition and integration of Penna plc.

Following a stint as a sales and marketing consultant, he formed the Orion Group to provide personnel to the booming engineering sector. Based in Inverness, Orion Group employs 375 staff across its 57 worldwide offices and manages more than 4,000 contractors annually throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
