Jacques van den Broek is CEO and chair of the executive board of Randstad, the world’s largest staffing firm. Active in 38 markets, Randstad helped nearly 2 million candidates find meaningful jobs in 2020. After graduating in law, van den Broek held a management positions with an international trading company before joining Randstad in 1988. He joined Randstad’s executive board in 2004 and has been in his current role since 2014. During the pandemic, van den Broek spearheaded the “Safely back to Work” alliance and launched Randstad’s #newways program to help clients work and operate safely and efficiently. Randstad also seamlessly moved people from declining sectors to those in high demand through reskilling and redeployment and providing governments with essential healthcare workers.

As managing corporate executive officer at Recruit Holdings Co. Ltd., Rob Zandbergen leads Recruit group’s global staffing business unit, RGF Staffing. Headquartered in the Netherlands, RGF Staffing is one of the world’s leading HR service providers, with annual revenue of approximately US$12 billion. Previously, Zandbergen was CEO and CFO of the publicly listed USG People. Active in the staffing sector since early 2003, Zandbergen has held various international and national executive and supervisory positions at publicly listed companies. Under his leadership, the staffing business of Recruit and the activities of USG People were successfully combined in a global business unit as part of the Recruit group network.

Mariëtte Patijn is an official at FNV Bondgenoten, the largest union in the Netherlands. She has been a member of FNV’s executive committee since May 2013. Patijn represents the interests of temporary workers and is the union’s coordinator for collective bargaining. She joined FNV as a secretary in 1990, quickly rising through the ranks. In 1995 she was appointed director of FNV Dienstenbond, representing the services sector. Since then she has been heavily involved in the creation of collective labour agreements for temporary workers.

CEO and chair of the executive board since 2014, Jacques van den Broek is responsible for The Randstad Group’s operations in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal and Latin America (Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Uruguay). In addition, van den Broek oversees business concept development, HR and public affairs. He joined Randstad in 2004 as a branch manager. Under his leadership, Randstad has made significant progress in realizing its ultimate goal to impact 500 million work lives by 2030. He is also proud of the joint industry alliance spearheaded by Randstad NV, The Adecco Group and ManpowerGroup to enable companies and workers to return to work safely.

In 1960, Frits Goldschmeding cofounded Uitzendbureau Amstelveen — renamed Randstad in 1964 — after writing a thesis on temporary work for his master’s degree in economics. CEO for 38 years, he grew the company into a global giant and actively lobbied to improve the image of the staffing industry as well as strengthen the legal position of staffing employees. Randstad is now the largest staffing firm in the world. Goldschmeding retired as CEO in 1999 and joined the supervisory board of Randstad Holding; he retired from the board in 2011. He continues to be the largest shareholder in the company. In 2015, he founded the Goldschmeding Foundation, which supports projects that respond to important societal issues involving people, work and economy.

Ineke Kooistra has been the CEO of YoungCapital, a Dutch recruitment agency, since 2013. She has more than 25 years of experience in the recruitment and secondment industry. Kooistra has also set up and expanded various specialist roles within the IT staffing market. Her role as CEO is to get people moving in the right direction and to motivate and coach them. She likes to be a facilitator to her employees and describes her style as “servant leadership,” saying: “Tell me what I can do to help you.”

According to research from SIA, Timing is the sixth-largest staffing firm in the Netherlands. She joined the company as a consultant in 1988 and held various management positions, including deputy manager, before being appointed general manager in 2012.
