Alistair Cox is group CEO of global recruitment agency Hays plc, having held that position since 2007. He is a chartered engineer with a degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Salford. He also holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in California, US. Cox began his career at British Aerospace and eventually moved into staffing, having been appointed chief executive at Xansa plc, the IT outsourcing organisation, before joining Hays. He has also served as a non-executive director at 3i Plc and at Just Eat, and is currently chairman of the British and Irish Modern Music Institute.

Nick Cox became Hays’ managing director for Continental Europe and Rest of the World (CERoW), in 2006, reporting directly to the CEO. As one of Hay’s three operating divisions, CERoW comprises 22 countries out of 32 in the Group. Cox joined Hays in 1983 working in the accountancy and finance/banking division as a recruitment consultant, progressing to regional director and then U.K. director. He was made managing director (U.K. and Europe) for Hays Information Technology in 1997. He was promoted to Hays U.K. board director in 2003, responsible for seven specialisms,including HR, sales and marketing and contact centres.

In 2006, Heap was appointed managing director of Asia Pacific and joined the group management board.

Neil Carberry in 2018 became CEO of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, the professional body representing the UK’s £39 billion recruitment industry. Carberry and his team have played a critical role in getting recruiters access to key government support in the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. Before moving to REC, Carberry was managing director for people and infrastructure at the CBI, where he led the work of the UK’s leading business organisation on employment law and relations, the labour market, education and skills, energy, climate and infrastructure. He is a council member of the conciliation service ACAS and was appointed to the Low Pay Commission in 2014.

He has led the company for 23 years and in 2017 converted Cordant to a social enterprise focused on putting people before profit and influencing the world of work to help people lead more meaningful lives. Last year, the company influenced some of its large clients to adopt a living wage rather than a minimum wage. It also rolled out apprenticeships and supported a significant amount of work to eliminate modern slavery. The group had revenue of more than £870 million and placed 125,000 workers last year, mostly in minimum wage roles.

In 2018, Dumon oversaw the acquisition of Hudson Global’s recruitment and talent management activities in Europe (except for the Benelux countries) and the launch of Morgan Philips Hudson Talent Consulting in the UK, France, Spain and Poland.
