James Reed is chairman of Reed Global. Founded in 1960, it now has more than 3,000 employees working in 140 locations worldwide. During the Covid-19 crisis, Reed co-launched the Keep Britain Working campaign to preserve jobs and donated £100,000 to the National Emergencies Trust Covid Appeal, matched by a £100,000 donation from the Reed Foundation made via The Big Give. He joined the company in 1992 after graduating from Harvard Business School. Reed is also a published author and has written The 7 Second CV, Why You? and 101 Interview Questions You’ll Never Fear Again; he also co-authored Put Your Mindset to Work.

Nick Cox became Hays’ managing director for Continental Europe and Rest of the World (CERoW) in 2006, reporting directly to the CEO. As one of Hay’s three operating divisions, CERoW comprises 22 countries out of 32 in the Group. Cox joined Hays in 1983, working in the accountancy and finance/banking division as a recruitment consultant, progressing to regional director and then UK director. He was made managing director (UK and Europe) for Hays Information Technology in 1997, then promoted to Hays UK board director in 2003, responsible for seven specialisms, including HR, sales and marketing and contact centres.

Nicola McQueen

Nicola McQueen has worked in the recruitment industry for 19 years, joining Capita as a recruitment consultant in 1999. By 2010, she was appointed as managing director of Capita Resourcing and significantly grew the business, launching new services internationally and integrating strategic acquisitions to enhance the existing proposition.

In 2016, McQueen was appointed as executive director of the Workplace Services division, which includes all HR and recruitment businesses and responsibilities for the Recruiting Partnering Project — Capita’s partnership with the MOD to recruit into the British Army.

Earlier this year, McQueen led a management buyout of Capita’s specialist recruitment businesses, Affinity Workforce, now one of the largest privately owned, public service recruitment specialists in the UK.

Frances Lewis is a senior lawyer with international law firm Osborne Clarke LLP and leads its workforce solutions sector team. She has been advising staffing businesses since 1997, including some of the first UK MSP and RPO deals in the early 2000s. Lewis advises on commercial, regulatory and workplace tax aspects of engaging and supplying contingent workforces in the UK and internationally. Her recent work includes helping staffing supply chains reduce tax risk; setting up hire, train and deploy models; working with talent platforms to address regulatory and payment services risk; and helping staffing companies and consultancies operate on a statement-of-work basis.

Carmen Watson, chair and managing director of Pertemps, joined Pertemps in 1976 as a secretary and was later responsible for the corporate business team and growing turnover to £323 million from £32 million between 1983 and 2000. In 2018, Watson was named Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors in West Midland and received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the REC IRP Awards in London. She is trustee and chair of the Women in Business patrons’ group, board member of Race for Opportunity charity as well as a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Prior to joining Rullion, he worked at General Electric. Saoulli holds an MBA from INSEAD and a master of science in economics from the University of Warwick. In 2018, Rullion ranked 14th on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of the largest staffing firms in the UK. The company also launched a new specialist Talent Consultancy division in 2018.

Phil Cooper’s experience includes 20 years in the human capital and workforce management industry spanning markets all over the globe. In his current role as VP, operations, EMEA for Allegis Global Solutions, Cooper is responsible for delivering solutions for global clients that integrate multiple technology partners and suppliers, while also managing programs and client implementations. In May 2017, Cooper led the expansion of AGS operations to Birmingham, England, creating more than 100 new jobs in the city. Cooper is passionate about affecting those around him, whether it’s acting as the company’s EMEA executive sponsor for diversity and inclusion, leading senior leader customer roundtable discussions or helping clients solve their talent acquisition challenges.

As chief commercial officer of Alexander Mann Solutions, Matthew Rodger is responsible for the performance of the Advanced Workforce Solutions division containing AMS’s most complex outsourcing arrangements. He is also accountable for the commercialisation of all products, services and partnerships and for corporate M&A activity. Rodger joined AMS in 2001 as sales director and has held a number of roles including COO APAC and managing director, contingent workforce solutions. He was recognised by the Association of Professional Staffing Companies for Outstanding Contribution in 2012 for championing APSCode, the RPO and MSP code of conduct. His 27-year staffing sector career started with an IT recruitment business where he became the UK sales director.
