A chartered accountant and also US qualified, Paul Venables was appointed group finance director of Hays plc in 2006 and has helped transform the company into a preeminent global specialist recruitment business with operations in 33 countries. He started his career at Deloitte & Touche as senior manager in its US practice. This was followed by a 13-year career at Exel plc where he held a number of senior finance and operational roles, including deputy group finance director, and was a member of Exel plc’s executive board and chairman of its acquisitions and project review board.

In his previous role as global development officer for Allegis Group, Hartman was responsible for executing and establishing prominent brands outside of North America, and leading the international operations. Before moving over to his global roles, he was a founding member and president of Allegis Group Services. Under his direction, AGS grew into one of the largest MSP and RPO providers.

Bettina Schaller oversees the public affairs activities of The Adecco Group, encompassing regulatory and policy issues and the group’s memberships in employers’ associations at the global and European scale. She is a board member of the World Employment Confederation, VP of WEC Europe and chair of the WEC Europe Public Affairs Committee. She is a member of the B20 Employment and Education Task Force, sits on the OECD Employment, Labour and Social Affairs Committee, supports the GFMD “responsible recruitment” efforts and acts as company focal point for the Global Apprenticeship Network and the World Economic Forum.

Hans Ploos van Amstel joined The Adecco Group as CFO and a member of its executive committee in 2015. Before joining The Adecco Group, he was CFO of Cofra Group from 2009 to 2013, before acting as co-CEO of C&A Europe for a transition period until 2015. He started his career in finance at Procter & Gamble in the Netherlands in 1989. Between 1992 and 2003, he held positions of increasing responsibility in Procter & Gamble across Saudi Arabia, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. In 2003, he joined Levi Strauss & Co. in Belgium as VP of finance and operation Europe, and moved to the US as global CFO in 2005.

In this role, he represents the interests of the staffing industry, lobbying government and negotiating with social partners and French institutions. In 2013, Roux led the talks with trade unions that resulted in the creation of a form of indefinite duration contract for temporary agency workers. In 2016, the association will be in the spotlight again as a new labour bill is underway.

As venture partner, Ilonka Jankovich manages the Randstad Innovation Fund, which has made 17 investments in HR technology since its inception in 2014. Jankovich began her career as an M&A lawyer and in 1996 founded Legal FlexForce, a permanent recruitment and contracting firm based in the Netherlands. Monster/TMP bought the company in 2001. Jankovich then launched professional recruitment firm ProfiPower in 2004, selling the business to Randstad in 2010, at which time she was appointed general manager of Randstad Hungary. She left Randstad in 2012, returning in 2013 to launch the Innovation Fund. Jankovich also is a supervisory board member for several HR tech firms.

Henry Schirmer joined Randstad as CFO and member of its executive board in 2018; he is responsible for global finance and accounting, business control, M&A, tax, treasury, business risk & audit, investor relations, procurement and legal. Under Schirmer’s financial leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic, Randstad delivered a strong and market-leading performance for the year 2020, and group revenue surpassed 2019 levels in the second quarter of 2021. Schirmer is also a member of the board of directors of General American Investors. He previously served as CFO of Unilever Europe and CFO of Unilever North America.

Appointed to her current position in 2000, she has led the company to more than €550 million in revenue and has helped lead its expansion across Europe. In 2019, Bernhard and her team were awarded “Top Personnel Service Provider” in Germany from Focus-Spezial magazine, “Innovation in Micro Mobility” from Dekra and “Germany’s Customer Champion.” As part of Dekra Group, Dekra Arbeit has been supporting both customer companies and employees in qualified career and personnel planning since 1998.
