Managing Director

Since 2007, Agostino Di Maio has served as managing director of Assolavoro, a trade association representing approximately 90% of the consolidated income derived from the temporary work industry in Italy. In 2018 and 2019, the Italian government introduced restrictive regulations on the sector, to which Assolavoro responded with institutional relations, lobbying, media relations and by proposing improvements to the legislative process. Di Maio also promoted a powerful communication campaign — the largest ever undertaken in Italy — on the role of work agencies. The final labour reform voted by the Italian Parliament is less restrictive for the sector than the first draft, although much remains to be done.
