Jérôme Rieux joined Groupe Adéquat as sales director in 2005 after 15 years as a regional manager in the recruitment industry; he was appointed CEO in 2016. Its six brands combined count more than 1,300 employees and 270 offices located throughout France, Belgium, Ireland, Canada and the Netherlands. The independent company ranks No. 37 on SIA’s 2019 list of largest global staffing firms with €967 million in 2018 revenue. Groupe Adéquat aims to develop in 10 countries over the next five years and be one of the largest 25 global staffing companies.

A chartered accountant and also US qualified, Paul Venables was appointed group finance director of Hays plc in 2006 and has helped transform the company into a preeminent global specialist recruitment business with operations in 33 countries. He started his career at Deloitte & Touche as senior manager in its US practice. This was followed by a 13-year career at Exel plc where he held a number of senior finance and operational roles, including deputy group finance director, and was a member of Exel plc’s executive board and chairman of its acquisitions and project review board.

Since 2010, he has been involved in many higher-value staffing and recruitment sector M&As in Europe. He has also advised over 200 companies on alternate supply models and IR35 compliance. Randstad now has an active role in Germany’s Federal Employers’ Association of Personnel Service Providers and the German Association of Employers as well as in the lobbying circuit in political Berlin. Randstad Germany is the country’s leading personnel service provider with 2019 sales volume of nearly €2.1 billion; under Jager’s leadership it has gained market share for two years in a row in a heavy downturn market. Jager takes every opportunity to improve the image of the staffing industry in Germany.

In 2020, Paul Jacquin co-founded Taptrove Ventures, which invests in WorkTech startups, providing solutions to boost productivity, enable a distributed workforce and improve professional journeys. He is also managing partner of the Randstad Innovation Fund, which he co-founded in 2014 to invest in social sourcing, online platforms, mobile solutions, virtual solutions, gamification and big data analytics. It has since invested in 20 companies and deployed close to €50 million. In the past year the fund grew more than 50% in annual recurring revenue and added US-based firms ZapInfo and This is Alice, as well as ValidatedID in Spain to its portfolio.

In 1996 he founded Best International Group, based in London, which grew to £130 million in revenue in 18 months and was then sold to Spring Group in 2003. He now serves as non-executive director, strategic advisor and chairman for various recruitment firms. He specialises in achieving rapid and sustainable growth, both organic and by acquisition. In 2008, O’Sullivan bought the Elite Leaders Group, a peer-to-peer learning and personal development forum for the owners and directors of independent recruitment companies.

Martin Foulser is the group managing director of TRS Staffing Solutions and a VP of Fluor Corp. Since joining TRS more than 20 years ago, he has held previous positions of increasing responsibility, including five years in the US leading its North American operations. Foulser has played a leading role in building TRS into the global player it is today, with more than 19 global offices and a contracted workforce of 5,000-plus professionals. Jan Gupta is president of The Adecco Group’s Modis brand, the group’s IT and engineering staffing and solutions division. He assumed this newly created role and joined The Adecco Group’s executive committee in 2019. A German national, Gupta’s experience includes managing global teams at engineering and technology businesses. His academic background is in mechanical engineering and economics. Gupta holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from Aachen University, Germany. His career spans more than 20 years in the technology industry, most recently as COO and board member of Schunk Group, a German advanced engineering company.
